Have you ever wondered why Jesus came into this world? I think many of us know what happened just over 2,000 years ago: Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, was visited by shepherds, and received gifts from men. But why did all this occur?
The Bible provides a number of reasons. We are told that Jesus ‘came to seek and save the lost’ (Luke 19:10), and that he ‘came into this world to save sinners’ (1 Timothy 1:15). But there is another reason why Jesus came: ‘For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth’ (John 18:37).
Truth in our society?
How good this news is that the Lord Jesus came to bear witness to the truth! We live in a world where truth is in short supply. We live in a world where uncertainty and deception abound.
