Donald Trump Says Mega-Donor Floated $250 Million Offer for Third Term [WATCH]

President Donald Trump said Tuesday night that Israeli-American billionaire donor Miriam Adelson floated the idea of him running for a third term and suggested she would contribute another $250 million if he pursued it, as reported by the Gatweay Pundit.

Trump made the remarks during the annual Hanukkah candle-lighting ceremony at the White House, where he praised Adelson as the top donor from the 2024 election cycle and recounted a private exchange that took place during the event.

According to Trump, Adelson had already contributed $250 million to support his successful return to office. While addressing the audience, Trump pointed out her role in the campaign and invited her to speak.

“Miriam gave my campaign indirectly, $250 million. She was number one. When somebody can give you $250 million, I think we should give her the opportunity to say hello,” Trump said.

Trump introduced Adelson as an “incredible woman” and praised her late husband, Sheldon Adelson, describing him as a strong supporter of Israel.

During her remarks, Adelson spoke about her admiration for Trump and referenced attending one of his speeches at the Israeli Knesset despite being in physical pain at the time.

She then described a recent conversation with Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz that shifted the tone of the event.

“And now I met Alan Dershowitz,” Adelson said. “And he said, the legal thing about four more years. And I said, Alan, I agree with you. So we can do it. Think about it.”

Following that statement, attendees began chanting, “Four more years! Four more years!”

Trump returned to the microphone moments later and added another detail that drew attention.

“She said, ‘Think about it. I’ll give you another $250,’” Trump said.

The comments followed earlier remarks Trump made in October while speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One during a trip to Tokyo.

At the time, Trump was asked about comments from Steve Bannon suggesting that Trump could potentially run for and win a third term in 2028.

“Sir, Steve Bannon said in a recent interview that there could be plans for you to be able to run and potentially win a third term in 2028,” a reporter said. “Is that something you’d be willing to challenge at the court to be able to do?”

Trump did not dismiss the idea.

“I haven’t really thought about it,” Trump said. “We have some very good people as you know, but I have the best poll numbers I’ve ever had. I mean, I just solved eight wars, and a ninth is coming. I believe Russia Ukraine will happen.”

Trump continued by pointing to members of his administration and political allies.

“Well, we have great people,” he said.

“Well, I don’t have to get into that, but we have one of them standing right here. We have JD, obviously. The vice president is great. Marco is great. I’m not sure if anybody would run again. I think if they have a form to grip it would be unstoppable, I do. I really believe that. I would love to do it. I have my best numbers ever. It’s very terrible. I have my best numbers and if you read it–”

When pressed further by the reporter, Trump was again noncommittal.

“You’re not ruling out a third term?” the reporter asked.

“Am I not ruling it out? I mean, you’ll have to tell me. All I can tell you is that we have a great group of people, which they don’t,” Trump said.

Trump did not announce any formal plans regarding a third term, and the White House has not issued additional guidance following his remarks.
