The famous actor and comedian pleaded not guilty in May to five charges that included one rape count, one oral rape count, two sexual assault counts and one indecent assault count. The alleged acts unfolded from 1999 to 2005.

Brand is expected to attend trial June 16 at Southwark Crown Court on the five previous charges.

One of the alleged victims alleged Brand raped her inside a hotel room after an event in the southern Bournemouth region of Britain in 1999. Another claimed she was orally raped and sexually assaulted in London back in 2004.

Brand addressed the public in a video shared April 4 on X shortly after he was officially charged.

“I was a fool before I lived in the light of the Lord. I was a drug addict, a sex addict and an imbecile, but what I never was was a rapist,” he said in his own defense.

“I’ve never engaged in non-consensual activity,” he said in the video.

Detective Chief Inspector Tariq Farooqi said the alleged victims “continue to receive support from specially trained officers,” and urged “anyone affected by this case, or anyone with information, to come forward,” as part of the active investigation.
