Farrah Abraham Screws Up Mayoral Run 2 Years Before It Begins

“Teen Mom” star Farrah Abraham bragged about running for mayor of Austin, Texas, in 2026 only to discover mid-interview that the election is actually in 2028.

The embarrassing interview was featured Thursday on TMZ, as hosts Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeaudiere pointed out her social media mix-up and repeatedly corrected the reality TV star by informing her that there is no mayoral election in 2026.

Abraham appeared visibly stunned and confused, and at one point, the outlet said they would get back to her in two years.

Well, no shit — two years later would be the correct timing.

Abraham announced her premature mayoral run on her Instagram, but then she had to fix her fumble by reposting with the correct information. She had previously shared a number of Instagram posts polling her community to weigh in on various issues.

After her error was exposed on TMZ, Abraham insisted the outlet must have gotten their facts wrong, and she remained committed to her mistake.

Eventually they called her out by ringing up City Hall in the middle of the interview and proving her very, very wrong.

Refusing to acknowledge that she had made an error, Abraham repeatedly tried to educate Levin about the election cycle, insisting there were distinctions between local, district and federal offices.

She struggled to regain her footing, but the interview had already unraveled and continued to deteriorate. At one point, Levin urged her to do the math, pointing out that Kirk Watson was elected in 2024 and is serving a four-year term—an explanation that appeared to overwhelm her. Abraham continued to ramble about having already launched a campaign website and actively soliciting public donations. When it became clear the interview was beyond recovery, she offered a weak closing remark about how there is plenty of time to prepare between now and 2028.

It was arguably the only accurate statement she made—there is, indeed, time for people to leave the region before her mayoral bid becomes a reality.

Abraham walked her statement back on social media by writing, “Looks like I’m running for District 2026. Thank you. Keep it weird.”
