The Sunday night timing avoided any clash with Reform’s promised Labour defector on Tuesday. Annoyingly for Team Kemi – in rhapsodic briefing mode over the weekend – the defection comes just a tad over the two day mark since the Tory leader promised during her clip on Friday morning that no more defections would be forthcoming. When asked whether she was confident there would be no more turncoats from the Shadow Cabinet she told Sky News:
“We are a stronger and more united team because Robert Jenrick is not a team player. I am 100% confident”.
