Payrolled employees dropped by 43,000 in December, while average regular pay growth dropped to a three-year low at 4.5% in the three months to November. Shadow Business Secretary Andrew Griffith said:
“This is a terrible scorecard for this government. Youth unemployment is up, 184,000 fewer people are on payrolls and it’s all before the impact of the Budget and their Unemployment Bill. Jobs are becoming a crisis on their watch.”
