Trump Announces John Deere to Build $70 Million Excavator Factory in North Carolina [WATCH]

Donald Trump announced Tuesday that John Deere will invest $70 million to build a new excavator factory in North Carolina, marking a shift of excavator production from Japan to the United States, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

The announcement was made during a rally focused on the economy and affordability in Clive, Iowa, where President Trump highlighted the project as a significant domestic manufacturing investment.

According to the President and a company press release, the new excavator facility will be located in Kernersville, North Carolina, and is expected to open within the next year.

John Deere also confirmed plans to build a new distribution center in Hebron, Indiana, as part of the same expansion initiative.

The company said both facilities are scheduled to open in the next year and are expected to employ approximately 150 Americans each.

“In keeping with our strong tradition of building America, we are excited to announce plans to open two new U.S.-based facilities: a state-of-the-art distribution center near Hebron, Indiana, and a cutting-edge excavator factory in Kernersville, North Carolina, both set to open in the next year,” the company said in its statement.

While addressing the crowd in Iowa, President Trump described John Deere as a “great American company” and emphasized the scale of the investment.

“John Deere is doing $70 million in a factory in North Carolina,” the President said. “It’s brand new, the best in the world, and I think it’s going to pay off very, very big.”

Trump said the new facility will focus on excavator manufacturing and described it as a unique development in U.S. production.

“It’s going to be the only excavator factory,” he said.

The President continued by stressing that the facility will produce excavators entirely in the United States, a point he returned to repeatedly during his remarks.

“In other words, excavators– we all know, I love those excavators– believe it or not, I know a lot about them. We don’t make them here. This is going to be the only excavator entirely made in the United States of America,” Trump said.

During extended remarks captured on video, the President again detailed the announcement while crediting John Deere’s role in expanding domestic manufacturing capacity.

“And today, I’m pleased to announce one more historic investment. The great American company that we just talked about is doing so much,” Trump said.

“I have to give, I have to give it really, I’d buy so much equipment from so many of the people in the— you know, we have a lot of very successful companies in here, but I know it’s a very, a very special deal, because John Deere is doing $70 million in factory in North Carolina.”

Trump added, “It’s brand new, the best in the world, and I think it’s going to pay off very, very big. And if it doesn’t, I have nothing to do with it, but if it does, I’m going to take, I’m going to take full credit.”

He reiterated that the project centers on excavator production and said the United States has not historically manufactured the equipment domestically at this scale.

“But what it is is an excavator factory, as I understand it, and it’s going to be the only excavator factory,” Trump said.

“In other words, excavators– we all know, I love those excavators– believe it or not, I know a lot about them. We don’t make them here. This is going to be the only excavator entirely made in the United States of America.”

The announcement comes as the Trump administration continues to promote domestic manufacturing investment and U.S.-based production, particularly in industrial and heavy equipment sectors.
