Police in Berkeley, Missouri, arrested a woman who was wanted on felony charges after recognizing her while she publicly complained about law enforcement during a city council meeting, authorities confirmed, as reported by The Blaze.
The incident occurred Jan. 12 at a Berkeley City Council meeting, where Jameicia Moore addressed council members on an unrelated matter and criticized police conduct.
While Moore spoke, officers in attendance recognized her as a suspect they had been attempting to locate for weeks, according to Berkeley Police Major Steve Runge.
Runge told local station KTVI-TV that Moore had been sought by police in connection with an alleged domestic stabbing that occurred in October 2025.
“Are you kidding me? Was my reaction,” Runge said. “Because we were trying to get her to come talk to us and she just refused.”
Video from the meeting shows Runge seated in the background as Moore addresses the council. At that moment, he texted officers to move in and take her into custody.
“Then, not only that, [she] complained about the police,” Runge said. “And I’m like, lady, you’re wanted by the police!”

Runge said officers were instructed to arrest Moore in the hallway outside the council chamber to avoid disrupting the meeting.
Police had been attempting to contact Moore for approximately two months, he said, but she had repeatedly refused to cooperate.
According to authorities, Moore was wanted on charges of domestic assault and armed criminal action stemming from an alleged stabbing of her boyfriend in October 2025.
Investigators said Moore stabbed the victim in the left arm with a butcher knife after becoming enraged when he mentioned another woman.
Police said the alleged attack was captured in an audio recording in which Moore can be heard telling the victim:
“You’re lucky I didn’t stab you in the f**king chest.”
Authorities further reported that a second domestic incident occurred approximately three weeks later, involving Moore allegedly wielding a baseball bat during another confrontation.
Following her arrest, Moore was booked on the outstanding charges and later granted a $100,000 bond.
Melissa Price Smith, the St. Louis County Prosecutor, said the circumstances surrounding Moore’s arrest were unusual.
“Shout-out to the Berkeley Police Department, who were really on top of their game — very aware,” Smith said.
Smith noted that Moore had refused to appear at the police department to speak with investigators, making her appearance at the city council meeting all the more surprising.
“She had refused to go to the police department to speak with them,” Smith said.
“It’s actually quite surprising, though, that she then appeared at the Berkeley City Council meeting two months later on a completely different matter.”
Runge said the case was a reminder that outstanding warrants do not simply disappear. “You can run, but you can’t hide,” he said.
Moore remains scheduled to appear in court as the case proceeds through the St. Louis County judicial system.
