‘The Nicest F*cking People’: Joe Rogan Explains Why He Goes To Church

Joe Rogan says the people he worships with on Sundays are so kind that if their disposition came in pill form, everyone would take it.

“One of the things that I always say is, if there was a pill that could make you as nice as the people that I go to church with, everybody would be on it,” Rogan said in a clip shared on X.

The popular podcaster admitted his views on faith have changed with age. “When I was younger, I was very cynical about religion, and then I’ve gotten older,” he said. (RELATED: ‘Clean Comic’ Says He’s Anchored By His Religion)

“They are the nicest f*cking people you will ever encounter. When we leave church, they’re kind,” Rogan added. “If you get just to the teachings of Christ, I can’t find any faults in it.”

Rogan’s spiritual journey has been a gradual one. He was raised Catholic and attended Catholic school as a child but later described himself as “pretty atheist” after a negative experience there, according to Sportskeeda. His outlook shifted after his grandfather died. Seeing his grandfather in his casket made him reconsider the existence of the soul.

“I started thinking like, ‘Oh. This isn’t bullshit,’” Rogan previously said.

Christian apologist Wesley Huff confirmed in May 2025 that Rogan had been attending church consistently, according to the Christian Post. Huff appeared on Rogan’s podcast in January for a three-hour conversation about Christianity and the Bible.

“I can tell you for a fact that he is attending church and that has been a consistent thing,” Huff said.

Rogan has also grown critical of the New Atheism movement he once found appealing, according to the Deseret News. “But a lot of those guys fell apart,” Rogan said. “They don’t seem very enlightened. They don’t seem like they’re at peace.”

Speaking on the Triggernometry podcast in October, Rogan said he enjoys going to a church where congregants study Scripture together, according to Fox News.

“They read and analyze passages in the Bible,” he said. “I’m really interested in what these people were trying to say, because I don’t think it’s nothing.”
