Savannah Guthrie’s 84-Year-Old Mother Nancy Reported Missing Under Mysterious Circumstances

Police are searching for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, after she reportedly went missing from her Arizona home.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department shared Nancy’s image on a missing person post shared Sunday on X. They informed the public that she was last seen Saturday night around 9:30 p.m. at her home near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue. The police were not certain what Nancy was wearing at the time of her disappearance.

Sheriff Nanos issued a statement during a press conference Sunday and said search and rescue teams were deployed to assist in the search. He confirmed that homicide detectives are also investigating the scene.

Nanos said disturbing or concerning circumstances were found at the home, but it’s unclear if foul play is suspected in this case, according to TMZ.

Deputies contacted local hospitals but nobody reported seeing Nancy, according to News Center Maine.

“I don’t need to tell you, this is very concerning to us,” Nanos said. “We don’t typically get the sheriffs out at a scene like this.”

Guthrie is 5’5″ and 150 pounds, and she has brown hair and blue eyes. The outlet reported that she has no known mental or cognitive challenges.

A family member called 911 at noon Sunday to report Nancy missing, according to TMZ.

The outlet reported that search efforts remain ongoing and include air and ground teams. (RELATED: Brooke Nevils Describes Bloody Rape Scene In Bombshell Book About Alleged Attack By Matt Lauer)
