Florida Deputies Answer Bizarre Call After Deer Breaks Into Orange County Home [WATCH]

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to an unusual call last week after a deer entered a residential home by crashing through a living room window, prompting deputies to intervene and safely guide the animal back outdoors.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the incident was reported by a local family who contacted authorities after discovering that a deer had entered their home.

In a social media post shared by the agency, deputies said the animal had “crashed through a living room window” before moving into the kitchen area of the residence.

Video footage released by the sheriff’s office documented the encounter from the time deputies arrived on scene through the animal’s eventual exit.

Deputies responded to the residence and entered the home to assess the situation. Inside the kitchen, they observed the deer struggling to remain upright.

The animal appeared unsteady as it attempted to stand on the tile floor, frequently losing its balance while trying to move.

One deputy opened a sliding glass door that led to the backyard in an effort to create a clear exit path for the deer.

Despite the open doorway, the animal continued to struggle with its footing and appeared unable to walk steadily toward the exit on its own.

As shown in the video footage released by the sheriff’s office, the deputy approached the deer calmly.

He placed his hands on the animal and spoke to it in a reassuring tone, telling it that everything was okay.

The deputy then began gently petting the top of the deer’s head while referring to it as a “good little deer,” as captured on the recording.

Moments later, the video shows the deputy lifting the deer and carrying it through the open door to the backyard.

Once outside, the deer was placed on the ground, where it briefly struggled again to regain its balance.

Deputies at the scene initially expressed concern that the animal might have been injured during its entry into the home or while moving across the tile floor.

However, those concerns were soon alleviated when the deer demonstrated that it was not injured.

According to the sheriff’s office, the animal quickly began running around the perimeter of the backyard, moving without visible difficulty.

Deputies observed the deer as it regained its bearings and became more alert after being removed from the home.

To complete the response, a deputy opened a gate leading out of the backyard.

Video footage shows the deer running toward the open gate and exiting the yard. As the animal ran toward nearby wooded areas, a deputy is heard on the video saying, “Bye.”

The sheriff’s office confirmed that the incident concluded without injuries to the residents, deputies, or the deer.

Following the encounter, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office reported the incident to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, as required in cases involving wildlife interactions.

The agency did not release the exact address of the home or the specific date of the incident but noted that deputies responded promptly after receiving the call.

The sheriff’s office used the video footage to highlight the calm approach taken by deputies in handling the situation and ensuring the animal’s safe return to its natural environment.
