Damn … the Wizards are serious about becoming a winner.
The Dallas Mavericks have come to an agreement to ship off their 10-time All-Star center Anthony Davis in a blockbuster trade to the Washington Wizards, a move that involves a total of eight players. The Mavs’ intention is to create maximum flexibility to develop a roster around their face of the franchise, Cooper Flagg, according to ESPN. Dallas is sending Davis and guards D’Angelo Russell, Dante Exum and Jaden Hardy to Washington for Khris Middleton, Marvin Bagley III, Malaki Branham, AJ Johnson, a couple of first-round draft picks and three second-round picks, per ESPN.
The Wizards‘ traded first-round selections are the 2026 pick from the Oklahoma City Thunder and a 2030 top-20-protected pick from the Golden State Warriors, according to the four-letter network’s sources.

I’m not gonna lie. With the Wizards pairing Anthony Davis and Trae Young together, and how I’m originally from the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia), this move definitely sparked my interest.
Anthony Davis is getting older at 32, sure, but he’s still putting up double-doubles and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon. Meanwhile, Trae is still in his prime at 27 and is a superstar point guard. I’m just saying, if the Wizards can manage to get another quality star to put with those two and a few depth pieces to extend life on the court, Washington all of a sudden becomes a championship team.
In the blink of an eye … wow.
