Country Singer Charley Crockett Cancels Tour, Denied Entry To Canada Over Drug Conviction

Country music star Charley Crockett was forced to cancel the Canadian leg of his tour after being refused entry into the country — twice.

Crockett was set to perform at Vancouver’s Orpheum Theatre on Feb. 21, but Canadian officials wouldn’t allow him in over a past drug conviction. He shared an image of a letter from the Canadian Government indicating that he was denied entry under subsection 44(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Act because of a felony conviction in 2016.

“Everybody’s got a past,” he wrote to Instagram. “Mine’s still haunting me.”

Crockett explained the situation to his fans.

“I tried to cross the Canadian border twice in 24 hours. After they denied me entry in Vancouver, I tried again in Kelowna and was rejected a 2nd time,” the famous singer said.

“I’ve been advised that it would jeopardize my freedom to try and enter again. I’m deeply sorry to announce the cancelation of my entire Canadian tour.”

Crockett assured his fans that full refunds would be on offer where they purchased tickets, but acknowledged that “this doesn’t begin to make up for ya’ll’s time and hard earned money.”

“I apologize to everyone affected. I know I let y’all down,” he said.

Despite the setback, he remained positive and determined to make a comeback.

“Canada’s such a beautiful country full of some of the best fans in the world, and I’ve had the time of my life playing shows for y’all. I ain’t one to quit and I aim to be back one of these days real soon.”

Officials arrested the Grammy-nominated artist in Virginia in 2014 for felony marijuana possession and trafficking, according to The Globe and Mail. (RELATED: Officials Drop Charges Against Country Star Conner Smith In Fatal Car Crash)

Crockett served time behind bars before posting bail. A judge handed him a 10-year suspended sentence and fine of $10,000, and he was received probation, according to The Globe and Mail.

The singer toured Canada in 2024 and played in Toronto in 2025.

Alongside the Vancouver appearance, Crockett had to bow out of shows in Edmonton, Montreal, Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Toronto, Windsor and Winnipeg.
