Legendary Singer Neil Sedaka Reportedly Rushed To Hospital

Legendary singer-songwriter Neil Sedaka was reportedly rushed to the hospital Friday after a “medical request” call was placed.

Family sources said the famous singer, who rose to worldwide recognition in the 1960s, remains in the hospital for recovery, according to TMZ. The sources said Sedaka didn’t feel well Friday morning and required medical assistance. The L.A. County West Hollywood Sheriff’s station said deputies helped the fire department with the call and paramedics took Sedaka to an area hospital at approximately 8 a.m.

The nature of the medical emergency was not publicly disclosed.

Sedaka is best known for releasing multiple number one hit singles in the 1960s. including “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do” and “Calendar Girl.” He also released the memorable songs “Laughter in the Rain” and “Bad Blood” in the 1970s.

Sedaka helped found the doo-wop band the Tokens in the late 1950s, and received five Grammy nominations over the course of his decades-long career in the music industry. The talented artist obtained a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 1978 and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1983. He also made television guest appearances on “King of Queens” and “The Carol Burnett Show,” and served as a guest judge on season 2 of “American Idol.”
