According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), locals in Nye County, Nevada were shook Sunday morning by a magnitude 4.3 earthquake.
Occurring in rural areas of Nevada, communities near Tonopali were rattled by the moderate earthquake.

The geological events come after the same location felt a magnitude 2.2 earthquake the night before.
Intensity levels have increased since that time, but the Tonopah and Godfield areas just had minor shaking due to the earthquake.

A total of 41 earthquakes have erupted throughout the region, with the latest event recording as the strongest, according to the FOX Forecast Center.
The determination of an earthquake’s magnitude, location and time can be made using data gathered by a seismometer.

At the time of publication, there have been no reports of injuries or damage.
Nevada is the 3rd most seismically active state in the nation, according to the Nevada Office of Emergency Management/Homeland Security.
