Noooooo! They flatlined the referee!
All hell broke loose during a Sun Belt Conference women’s basketball tournament game that saw South Alabama and Coastal Carolina square off, with the stage being in the second round.
A brawl erupted with a little more than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, and it resulted in a referee lying on the court when the smoke cleared. For several moments, the official stayed on the floor in clear discomfort, doing so with medical personnel providing support. The other official in the game dished out a double technical foul, which led to a total of eight ejections, with the majority being from the roster of South Alabama.
South Alabama saw Princess Okafor Nweze, Saneea Bevley, Amyah Sutton, Jeriyah Baines, Terren Coffil and Daniela Gonzalez ejected, while Tracey Hueston was kicked out of the game on the Coastal Carolina side.
Things sparked up following Hueston (Coastal Carolina) and Cordasia Harris (South Alabama) chirping back and forth while in the paint, ultimately escalating after Hueston seemingly threw a punch at Harris. This promoted players and coaches from each squad to exit their respective benches and run towards the scene.

Y’all know me, I’m all for having fights in sports, but we can’t be hitting the referees, man. What are we doing, ladies?!
But I give them this: They gave us an entertaining show, something I can’t say happens a lot in women’s basketball.
