William Shatner is scheduled to undergo surgery on his shoulder March 11 after a terrifying tumble off one of his horses.
The “Star Trek” star said he fell off one of his horses in late 2025 and shattered his right shoulder, according to Page Six. Shatner, who turns 95 later in March, addressed his surgical procedure Sunday during the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films’ 53rd annual Saturn Awards in Burbank, California.
On behalf of the “Star Trek” franchise, Shatner accepted the Hall of Fame award, the outlet reported.
He asked for a chair to speak with certain media, noting he was feeling “old, tired and kind of hurt.”
He revealed that he “wrecked [his] shoulder.”
“I ride the horses that can compete in equine skills, which is fast down and ends on a sliding stop,” he said, according to Page Six.
“And the horse that I owned, I came off,” he added.

The famous actor continued, “And she had a habit of going too far, like six inches to the side. And I’m riding it. And I’m ready. And she goes [too fast and sent him flying].”
Shatner said he used his stuntman experience to fall properly in order to lessen the impact, but he was still seriously injured.
“I’m not a young stuntman anymore,” Shatner said, according to Page Six.
“I started to roll, but hit the dirt with my shoulder. So I wrecked my shoulder.”
The actor described the medical steps he would be taking, and he noted he is scheduled for a “new type of shoulder operation called a reverse something or other.”
“You put the ball in the socket and the socket in the thing, and you come out 10 hours later, and you’re pain-free,” he said according to Page Six.
“So that’s what I am meandering towards.”
