Trump Says Warships From Many Countries Going To Strait Of Hormuz

President Donald Trump announced Saturday that several countries would assist the United States and send warships to the Strait of Hormuz.

“Many Countries, especially those who are affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending War Ships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe,” Trump said in a post to Truth Social on Saturday. “We have already destroyed 100% of Iran’s Military capability, but it’s easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close range missile somewhere along, or in, this Waterway, no matter how badly defeated they are,” he went on to say.

Trump also called on countries like China and France to join the U.S. in sending ships to the Strait to ensure it would stay open and operating.

“Hopefully China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others, that are affected by this artificial constraint, will send Ships to the area so that the Hormuz Strait will no longer be a threat by a Nation that has been totally decapitated. In the meantime, the United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian Boats and Ships out of the water,” he said.

This escalation comes after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for at least one of three strikes on civilian ships in the stretch of water on Wednesday.

Alireza Tangsiri, the IRGC Navy Commander, said that any ship attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz must obtain permission from Iran before doing so.

Were ships assured for passage through #Strait of Hormuz? This should be asked of the crews of the ships *expres rome* and *mayuree naree*, who today, trusting in empty promises, ignored the warnings and intended to cross the strait but got caught. Every vessel intending to pass must obtain permission from #Iran, he said in a post to X on Wednesday after the attack.

The Strait of Hormuz functions as a vital component of the global oil trade. Roughly 20 million barrels of oil per day were shipped in just 2025, according to the International Energy Agency. The Strait also accounts for 25% of global oil trade.

Trump finished his post by saying, “One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
