Agent Of US Men’s Hockey Star Auston Matthews Blasts NHL Over Mind-Boggling Radko Gudas Suspension

This suspension doesn’t even make any sense.

Auston Matthews, the captain for both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Team USA, is out for the rest of the season, and his agent is absolutely furious with the NHL in the aftermath of his client’s injury. Matthews suffered a Grade 3 MCL tear following a knee-on-knee pop with Anaheim Ducks captain Radko Gudas, and as you’ll see in the footage, it was a complete dirty play by Gudas.

Everything went down Thursday night, with Gudas being dished out a game misconduct and 5-minute major.

It was a straight up dirty play, something that Gudas has a rich history of, so it was a bit surprising that Gudas’ Department of Player Safety hearing would take place over the phone. And this due to a phone hearing carrying a five-game maximum suspension, and that’s exactly what Gudas got.

“In light of the obvious severity of the play, I am disappointed and shocked that the league would allow such a ruling. A phone hearing and five games is laughable and preposterous,” said Moldaver. “While the process is set in our CBA, that this was the discipline is reckless and ridiculous.

“The decision results in further loss of confidence in the disciplinary process for all players,” continued Matthews’ agent. “Players and fans deserve better. The Player Safety Department should be suspended.”

I don’t blame Judd for being PO’d. Gudas could have easily ruined Matthews‘ career with this stunt, and we’re only giving him five games?
