‘No SAVE AMERICA Act, No Senate Agenda’ [WATCH]

Election integrity legislation and voter identification requirements were the focus of a recent discussion between Jon Glasgow and Scott Presler, founder of Early Vote Action, during which Presler highlighted polling data showing strong national support for proof-of-citizenship requirements for voting.

Glasgow opened the discussion by introducing Presler and referencing his role in grassroots organizing during the most recent election cycle.

“Here to discuss is founder of early vote action.com Scott Pressler, great to see you. He’s also known as one of the driving forces that helped President Trump win re election, and I had the chance to meet you, Scott on the campaign trail. You were doing your best in Pennsylvania, another state that was incremental in the win here that was big, huge for President Trump.”

Glasgow pointed to a recent poll indicating broad support among Americans for proof-of-citizenship requirements at the ballot box.

“But I want to ask you here about this. According to this new poll, 77% of Americans think that proof of citizenship should be required to vote. That’s a big number, 77% Meanwhile, some Republicans in Congress. You’ve got many of them to Brandon Gill from Texas, is just one example, threatening to oppose all Senate passed legislation until the opera chamber advances the SAVE AMERICA Act.”

Glasgow then asked Presler how the issue looks from the perspective of someone working on voter outreach across several states.

“Talk to me about this. I mean, you do a lot of the groundwork. You go into the states. What’s your take on all this?”

Presler responded by arguing that voters expect action after the election delivered Republican majorities in Washington.

“Well, Thank you for having me back. In 2024 the American people duly elected a completely majority republican government, and here we are, nearly one and a half years in, and the American people demand and expect results.”

Presler said the Republican-led House has repeatedly passed election integrity legislation, including the SAVE AMERICA Act.

“I want to make it clear speaker Mike Johnson and the Republican House are doing its job. They are passing bill after bill after bill, including three times the Save act, slash SAVE AMERICA Act, and so now it’s being stalled in the Senate.”

Presler said the measure has support from both the House and President Donald Trump.

“The House wants it. The President is advocating for it.”

He also referenced several Republican lawmakers who have threatened to block Senate legislation until the bill is brought forward.

“And I want to give a shout out, because you just mentioned Brandon Gill. He said he’s a no on any Senate legislation until the SAVE AMERICA Act is passed on a plane.”
