Latin Grammy winning singer Bobby Pulido, who is challenging Republican Texas Rep. Monica De La Cruz, allegedly appeared in a music video as a public masturbator, according to a report.
In the 2010 music video “Dias de Ayer,” Pulido portrayed multiple characters including one who engaged in lewd behavior, according to the New York Post. In the music video, he allegedly repeatedly masturbated while wrapped in a red blanket and exposed himself to a woman while seemingly on a private jet, according to the report.
The music video also allegedly contained Pulido portraying a homosexual admirer of the lewd character, which led the Mexican press to question Pulido about his sexuality shortly after video’s release, according to the Post.
“People are opening up more. I can even tell you that when I started my career, I saw the whole situation (of gays) very differently. At first, they said I was gay; there were rumors that I was like that,” Pulido told the outlet El Norte in a 2010 interview, according to the Post.
Pulido attempted to put rumors about his sexuality to rest, the outlet reported.
The media “started circulating that kind of rumor, which isn’t true, I can swear on the Bible that I’m not,” he said.
One male journalist allegedly made inappropriate sexual advances toward him in 2017, Pulido claimed in an interview with “Primer Impacto,” the Post reported.
In the years following the release of the music video, Pulido made some denigrating comments about male homosexuals on X.
“1. I don’t like those guys. 2. You can’t have children. 3. Stop being a jerk already,” Pulido said in response to a post fawning over him.

Pulido responded to a 2019 comment that read, “Tell Bobby Pulido that I love him like a man.” Pulido replied, “Igualmente amigo, no homo” which translates to “Same here, buddy, no homo.”
Pulido won the Democratic primary earlier in March after taking nearly $1 million in contributions from a PAC linked to the Blue Dog Coalition, a moderate Democratic group, CBS News reported.
A Democrat-funded poll from September found Pulido was down three percentage points behind De La Cruz, according to the New York Times.
