Democrat Candidate Says He’s Not A Creepy Pervert, Just Mexican

Democrat Texas congressional candidate Bobby Pulido addressed criticism of his past behavior and social media posts by claiming his humor sometimes “doesn’t translate.”

Pulido, an award-winning musician challenging incumbent Republican Rep. Monica De La Cruz, has a lengthy record of troubling past behavior. (RELATED: REPORT: Texas Democrat Running For Congress Allegedly Played Public Masturbator In Music Video)

“My sense of humor on social media — and it’s very much in Spanish, I have a lot of fans in Mexico — sometimes that humor doesn’t translate,” Pulido told the Associated Press (AP) in February.

Pulido, who is running in Texas’ 15th Congressional District — one of the most heavily Hispanic districts in the country — saw his campaign echo that defense, according to the CNN en Español report.

While he did not directly address the specific accusations to CNN, his campaign pointed to the AP’s report with his statement.

Pulido’s public persona has also drawn renewed scrutiny.

He appeared in a 2010 music video for the song “Días de Ayer,” portraying an exhibitionist and a cross-dressing character, the New York Post first reported. After the video prompted questions about his sexuality, Pulido attempted to address the rumors.

News outlets “started circulating that kind of rumor, which isn’t true, I can swear on the Bible that I’m not,” he said, the Post reported.

His social media history has fueled additional criticism. Between 2013 and 2024, Pulido shared links, images and references to pornographic material, including directing followers to sites like YouPorn and XVideos, according to December 2025 Fox News Digital report.

In 2013, he allegedly encouraged fans to visit YouPorn if they were bored and reposted explicit content featuring fellow musicians, questioning whether they were being compensated, according to the report. In 2016, Pulido posted an image of two women holding donuts, one with a noticeably larger hole, captioning it: “Mija, esto es lo que te pasa después de un parto natural…” which translates to “Girl, this is what happens to you after a natural childbirth,” according to a Mediaite report.

In 2015, Pulido shared an explicit photo, seemingly of a naked woman against a glass window, according to a separate Mediaite report. “Soy el de atrás,” he wrote, which translates to “I’m the one in the back.”

The Daily Caller reached out to Pulido but did not receive a response prior to publication.
