Opinions are strong concerning the current Iranian conflict, and recent polls suggest that most Americans believe Trump will commit ground troops to the conflict, at 65%. Likewise, another poll shows the majority, 53%, oppose any American involvement in Iran. Trump’s base may seem split, but polls don’t reflect that, as 84% of the MAGA base trusts Trump’s judgment.
Once prevalent conservative commentators Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly have been boisterous in opposition, and that has brought ire from Trump and his supporters. Tucker Carlson and others claim Trump has abandoned his “America First” campaign promises of no more wars. Tucker Carlson is just wrong.
I would argue that there is nothing more America First than protecting Americans. Iran has killed over 1,000 Americans since 1979, and there was no end in sight for the ‘death to America’ chants. Critics will also claim, including Tucker Carlson, that this is Netanyahu and Israel’s war. Again, Tucker Carlson and others are just wrong.
Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement
If Tucker and others would open their eyes and consider the entire board, they would see that the game being played is for long-term stability in the region, with less reliance on Israel and the Mossad for intelligence. Ultimately, it means less American involvement and no more foreign wars, just as Trump promised when campaigning. It means fewer American deaths.
If Tucker and others would only consider the last two years, they may have a greater understanding of the true objectives, and those objectives can only be seen as America First, but Tucker is just wrong. Since Hamas invaded Israel on October 7, 2023, killing over 1,200 Jews, Israel has decimated Hamas in Gaza.
Since October 8, 2023, Hezbollah has steadily bombed north and central Israel. In return, Israel decimated the Hezbollah leadership in Lebanon, and they continue to take out Hezbollah targets and leadership with the IDF operating within Lebanon today. The UN tried to intervene 20 years ago in a designated area of Lebanon from the Latani River to the Lebanon-Israel border, but Hezbollah ignored it and has occupied the ground for years.
Soon after Trump took office in 2025, the U.S. Military targeted the Houthis in Yemen in an “Operation Rough Rider.” The campaign started in March and ended in May 2025 when Trump declared a cease-fire. The Houthis agreed to end their attacks on ships in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. The US targeted Houthi radar defense systems and missile sites.

Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis are all Iranian proxy fighters, funded and equipped by the Iranian rogue regime responsible for creating chaos throughout the Middle East and the world. Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli and American response to that attack has brought no response from any of the Arab nations in the region. Not one, for over 2 years, and this is where Tucker and others are misguided in their analysis. In fact, Tucker is just wrong.
A Middle East with a cooperating Iran benefits all their neighbors, and that’s why not one country has objected for over 2 years as Israel and America bombed common adversaries, the Iranian proxies. That’s also why there was no widespread regional war after ‘Midnight Hammer’ in June 2025. But, there is more Tucker and others are wrong about.
Throughout the 2010’s, some Arab nations were creating alliances with Israel. In Trump’s first term, nations signed the Abraham Accords, which created an alliance for trade among some Arab nations with Israel. They also started sharing intelligence information to eradicate the Iranian threats to all nations in the region.
The Abraham Accords created relationships between old enemies by opening trade among them. They have discovered that each is far more financially beneficial as an ally instead of an adversary. Meanwhile, Trump’s first foreign trip as the 47th president was to Saudi Arabia-UAE and he brought back trillions of dollars for investments in the U.S.
It’s also mutually beneficial, from an intelligence perspective, for the Arab nations and the U.S. to continue to form alliances because, in time, that will lessen the dependence on Israel and Mossad for America. Even that would make Tucker and others happy. If America can trust its new Arab nation partners, it is mutually beneficial for the US, Israel, and the Arab nations. An alliance, driven by peace through strength and the dollar.
Tucker Carlson and others are just wrong because ultimately, this Iranian conflict and future regime change, and new Iranian governance keep Americans more secure. And, I have never seen anything more America First than the current take-down of the Iranian rogue murderous regime to keep Americans safe.
Promises made, promises kept. Trump campaigned on no more foreign wars, and his moves, along with alliances with old and new partners, give the best hope for a future with less involvement in a place 100% of Americans don’t want to be, the Middle East.
Tucker is just wrong.
