An Orlando woman is facing multiple felony charges after police say she attacked a pregnant driver during a road rage incident, struck an elderly woman who tried to intervene, and later bit a police officer during her arrest.

Mandolyn Ann Shaffer-Brockwell, 37, of Orlando, was taken into custody following the Feb. 23 incident near the Mall of Millenia, according to the Orlando Police Department.

She has been charged with battery of a person 65 years or older, aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer, burglary of a conveyance with assault or battery, and resisting an officer with violence.

Authorities said the situation began as a road rage dispute involving the pregnant victim, who told officers that Shaffer-Brockwell repeatedly stopped her vehicle in short distances in front of her car.

According to the report, the woman attempted to distance herself by honking and changing lanes, but the situation escalated.

Video footage released by police appeared to show Shaffer-Brockwell exiting her vehicle and running toward the pregnant woman’s car.

Investigators said she climbed onto the hood of the vehicle, then moved to the driver’s side door, opened it, and allegedly began striking the victim in the face.

The pregnant woman told police that she also had a child inside the vehicle during the confrontation.

“Honk at me again, (expletive),” Shaffer-Brockwell allegedly told the pregnant woman during the encounter.

As the incident unfolded, an elderly woman who witnessed the altercation stepped out of her vehicle in an attempt to assist the victim.

Police said Shaffer-Brockwell then turned her attention to the older woman.

“Get back in your (expletive) car,” Shaffer-Brockwell allegedly told her before allegedly scratching and hitting the elderly woman in the face.

Police later released an image showing the elderly woman with visible bruising and scratches beneath one of her eyes.
