‘I Felt Terrible’: Brooks Koepka Reacts After Providing Comfort For Young Girl Who Got Hit By, Pinned Under Golf Cart

Definitely one of the wildest stories from the weekend, wow.

In Saturday afternoon’s third round of the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook, things took a turn for the worst, and it unfortunately involved a young girl, a golf cart and frenzied fans.

On the 15th hole, PGA superstar Brooks Koepka was playing, as well as Danny Walker. Right outside of the ropes, a huge group developed and appeared to be panicky. Come to find out, a little girl was hit by a golf cart, and to ratchet up the situation, she ended up getting pinned under it for a period of time, according to OutKick.

Koepka and NBC commentator Smylie Kaufman, who followed the group, went under the ropes to make sure the girl was okay. (RELATED: Rory McIlroy’s Masters Champions Dinner Has Been Revealed, And It Features An Incredible List Of Wine)

“Very scary moment … I am sure Brooks Koepka’s head is still spinning a little bit,” said Kaufman while on the air, also reporting that there didn’t seem to be any injuries, per OutKick.

After the round, Koepka was questioned about the situation, and with the golfer being a dad, he had a moment of relief that the girl was fine. But still, scary stuff.

“I just felt terrible. From all the reports you’ve got, she’s okay, thankfully,” said Koepka. “That’s all that matters, as long as she’s okay. I know she’s probably a little scared, and I just felt for her at the time. So, it’s unfortunate; it shouldn’t have happened, but as long as she’s okay, nothing crazy happened to her, then it will be okay.”
