
Injuries were reported late Sunday night after an Air Canada flight collided with a vehicle on the runway at LaGuardia International Airport in New York City, according to preliminary reports.
The incident involved Air Canada Express Flight AC8646, a Bombardier CRJ-900LR aircraft operated by Jazz Aviation.
The flight had departed from Montreal-Trudeau International Airport on a scheduled short-haul route and was carrying approximately 76 passengers in a two-class configuration, along with crew members, bringing the total number of people on board to roughly 80 to 85.

Flight-tracking data cited in reports indicated the aircraft had already landed and was taxiing when the collision occurred.
The plane was reportedly attempting to cross Runway 04/22 near Runway 4 when it struck a Port Authority Police Department Air Crash Rescue truck on an adjacent taxiway.
Video footage shared on X showed the aircraft positioned with its nose elevated, resting back on its rear wheels.
The front section of the plane, including the cockpit area, appeared to have sustained significant damage.

Additional images from the scene showed emergency crews responding, with scanner traffic indicating that a second alarm had been transmitted and that mass casualty incident protocols were activated.
As of this report, officials have not released confirmed numbers regarding injuries or fatalities, nor have they provided details about the condition of those involved.
Passengers were observed being evacuated from the aircraft onto the tarmac following the collision.
The New York Post reported that four firefighters were injured in the incident when the aircraft collided with the firetruck they were riding in.
The outlet further reported that the injured firefighters are members of the Port Authority Police Department.
According to the same report, all passengers aboard the aircraft were evacuated and transported from the scene on Port Authority buses for further evaluation.
Sources cited in early reports indicated that the collision occurred while the aircraft was heading toward a gate.
The incident was also reported to have taken place during a period of severe weather impacting the area at the time.
As of late Sunday night, neither the Federal Aviation Administration nor the National Transportation Safety Board had issued public statements regarding the incident.
Air Canada and the Port Authority also had not released official comments.
The situation remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
