The Islamic Republic of Iran rejected a 15-point plan from President Donald Trump’s administration aiming to end the ongoing war with the U.S., according to Iranian state media.
Iran’s Press-TV claimed a senior security official said Iran had decided against the American proposal delivered using an intermediary. The official said the U.S. has pursued a number of diplomatic approaches and presented terms the Iranian regime has labeled “excessive.” However, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on March 25 that there were still active talks between Iranian officials and Washington, according to CBS News. “Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met,” the official claimed before outlining five conditions the Iranian regime would accept, Press-TV reported. These included the U.S. halting combat operations, ensuring war would not resume in the future, recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, an end to hostilities against “resistance groups” and war reparations, according to state media.

Leavitt warned Trump was prepared to “unleash hell” if Iran does not agree to terms to end war, according to CBS News. “If Iran fails to accept the reality of the current moment, if they fail to understand that they have been defeated militarily and will continue to be, President Trump will ensure that they are hit harder than they have ever been before,” she told the press during a briefing.
Two sources in the region and a U.S. official said the U.S. Used Pakistan to communicate a 15-point plan to Iran, NBC News reported. The New York Times first reported on the plan on March 24.
This is a developing story.
