‘Hamilton’s’ Christopher Jackson Flubs Up National Anthem Prior To New York Mets’ Opening Day

If you’re going to do the National Anthem, it needs to be perfect … Christoper Jackson failed the assignment.

The 2026 campaign for the New York Mets got off to a bad start Thursday, however, it wasn’t their fault. Instead, you can point the finger at “Hamilton” actor Christopher Jackson, who screwed up the National Anthem prior to the Metropolitans‘ season opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Jackson approached the lyrics, “O’er the ramparts we watched,” had a pause and started singing, “What so proudly we hailed,” which is an earlier part of the anthem. (RELATED: Maryland Gov. Wes Moore Blasted By Boos Ahead Of Orioles’ Season Opener)

He would later get organized and completed the song.

The bad performance was a bit of a shock, this because of Jackson doing the anthem at a New York Yankees game in Aug. 2025 and doing a great job.

I don’t even understand how you can mess up the National Anthem like this. I’ve already mentioned Jackson doing well at a Yankees game, but what about the fact that this guy literally performs songs on Broadway. Yet, he can’t manage to do the National Anthem?

I mean, come on, we expect perfection. The Whitney Houston standard.

And my man did this during a war? Or as I like to put it, “the military Olympics”?! … We expect better, Christopher. Do better.
