Houston Calls Good Friday the ‘Spring Holiday Weekend’ – Because Saying ‘Easter’ Is Too Hard – Twitchy

Many people do not have to work today. Many government offices are closed today. The reason? It’s Good Friday. America is made up of many Christians who observe Good Friday, so many places in America shut down today. 

Not Houston. Well, they closed today, but their explanation is um, unique.

The Spring holiday weekend? That’s a new one. Why is this particular weekend a ‘holiday’ in Spring? Why aren’t other weekends during Spring celebrated as a holiday? Make it make sense.
