Charlie Day Names Accused Murdered Luigi Mangione As One Of His Favorite Luigis

Famous actor Charlie Day made an unexpected joke about Luigi Mangione in a recent interview.

The actor, who plays Luigi in the hit “Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” sat alongside costars Anya Taylor-Joy and Keegan-Michael Key in Tokyo for the comedy podcast “Tintoria” in a recent interview.

The interviewer directed his attention to Day and said, “You play Luigi, a great Italian guy. Who’s your favorite Luigi in recent American history?”

That opened the floodgates pretty quickly.

Day immediately began laughing loudly while repeating the question. He was unable to control his giggles as he replied, “Well me, first of all, number one, ah, Luigi Mangione, number two.”

Taylor-Joy buried her face in her hands and tried to hide her smile.

Key didn’t bother hiding how he felt, and he roared with laughter. Mangione is accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

The entire room soon broke out into laughter at what seemed to be a joke.
