Vanessa Trump Stands by Tiger Woods After His Most Recent DUI Arrest [WATCH]

Woods was taken into custody on March 27 after a two-vehicle crash in Jupiter Island, Florida.

According to authorities, the vehicle he was driving collided with the side of a pressure cleaner truck and rolled onto the driver’s side.

Following the crash, Woods was charged with two misdemeanor counts: DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.

An arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE detailed observations made by responding deputies at the scene.

Authorities reported that Woods was sweating heavily after the crash, and one deputy described his movements as “lethargic and slow,” noting that he displayed “severe signs of impairment.”

When Woods removed his glasses, the deputy observed that his eyes were “bloodshot and glassy,” and his pupils were described as “extremely dilated.”

The affidavit also stated that Woods appeared to have sustained a leg injury.

According to the report, Woods told authorities he had not been drinking alcohol but had taken prescription medication earlier that day.

He also said he did not see the truck because he was looking at his phone and adjusting the radio at the time of the crash.

Officers found two white pills in Woods’ pocket, which were later identified as the opioid hydrocodone, according to the affidavit.

Woods has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has requested a trial by jury.

In a statement released Tuesday, Woods addressed the situation.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” he said.

“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”

He continued, “I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”

Woods has faced a similar incident in the past. In 2017, authorities found him unconscious behind the wheel of a stationary vehicle, leading to a DUI charge.

At that time, Woods said, “I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved.”

He added, “What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.”

The earlier charge was later dropped after Woods entered a rehabilitation program for prescription drug addiction and pleaded guilty to reckless driving.

Following the recent arrest, Vanessa Trump, who has been publicly linked to Woods, posted a message of support on social media.

Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., shared a photo of the two together in a hammock on her Instagram Story on Friday, accompanied by the message, “Love you.”

Woods and Trump made their relationship public in March 2025.

At the time, Woods wrote in a social media post, “Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side!”

He added, “We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”

Authorities have not released additional details about the crash investigation. The case is expected to proceed through the court system following Woods’ request for a jury trial.
