The Bison are back in D.C.!
After winning a record 10th national championship in Subdivision Division 1, the North Dakota State football team visited Washington D.C. in celebration Wednesday and to receive recognition for their accomplishment.
The biggest highlight of the day was NDSU visiting President Donald Trump and the White House for a second time. The Bison also took a visit to D.C. back in 2019 after winning a seventh national championship.
The day for North Dakota State started with a tour of the Capitol and team photograph, which eventually took them to the White House where the U.S. Marine Corps band welcomed them with music. A little later, they were then greeted by President Trump in the East Room. (RELATED: President Trump Honors Joey Logano, Roger Penske During White House Visit)
Trump was given a NDSU helmet, and a jersey with a nameplate that read “Trump” and had the number 47 on it.
The Bison were addressed by President Trump and took a picture with the commander-in-chief, and afterwards, he invited them over to the Oval Office for extra photo ops.
Finishing the campaign with a 14-2 record, North Dakota State won the FCS National Championship in Jan. after defeating Montana State, 35-32.
