83-Year-Old Bernie Sanders Crashes Coachella

Democratic Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders made a cringey appearance Saturday at Coachella and desperately tried pushing his political views.

The highly anticipated annual music festival in Indio, California, is an upbeat concert series that’s known to attract a young crowd, making the 83-year-old appear awkwardly out of place. His unexpected attendance at the event drew mixed reactions from the crowd and became more unbearable with each passing moment. Fans who waited for hours and paid big bucks to attend the star-studded concert had their experience soured by Sanders as he lectured the younger generation, telling them to “stand up” against the fossil industry before going on a rant against President Donald Trump.

Sanders was seemingly unaware of the fact that he was far too old and out of touch to be addressing the young, music-loving party crowd.

“[Trump] thinks that climate change is a hoax. He is dangerously wrong,” Sanders said to the crowd, triggering some boos.

“This country faces some very difficult challenges, and the future of what happens to America is dependent upon your generation,” he said.

He didn’t seem to realize the concert goers were out for a good time and the last thing they needed was a lecture from the elderly man.

“Now you can turn away and you can ignore what goes on, but if you do that, you do so at your own peril. We need you to stand up to fight for justice, to fight for economic justice, social justice and racial justice,” Sanders shouted.

Sanders’ tone-deaf rant continued.

“We have an economy today that is working very well for the billionaire class, but not for working families,” he said.

He finally stopped the annoying rant by praising singer Clairo for using her “prominence to fight for women’s rights, to try to end the terrible, brutal war in Gaza, where thousands of women and children are being killed.” (RELATED: ‘F***ing Insane, I Thought It Was A Terrorist Attack’: Firework Explodes Into Crowd At Major Music Festival)

It was definitely past his bedtime, and he eventually shuffled off stage so the party could continue.
