Eleven violent illegal migrants, including alleged members of the Tren de Aragua and MS-13 gangs, were deported from the United States to El Salvador over the weekend, a senior administration official confirmed.
The deportations occurred just ahead of President Donald Trump’s scheduled meeting Monday with El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele at the White House.
The coordinated removal is part of the Trump administration’s ongoing effort to crack down on violent criminal networks operating within the U.S. and remove individuals with ties to transnational gangs.

According to the administration, at least seven of the deportees were linked to the Tren de Aragua gang, a Venezuelan-origin prison gang known for violent criminal activity.
One of the individuals removed was reportedly affiliated with the MS-13 gang, a group that has been the focus of numerous federal crackdowns.
The remaining individuals deported over the weekend had prior arrests for serious crimes, including rape, terrorist threats, assault, and robbery.
Among those deported was Daniel Alexander Fernandez-Rodriguez, a suspected member of Tren de Aragua.

He was arrested in New York last year for grand larceny and robbery, and later taken into custody in Illinois for burglary and obstructing justice, according to the administration official.
Another deportee, Jose Santos Robles, had been convicted in New York in 2016 for the rape of a 15-year-old.
Although Robles had no known gang affiliations, he was sentenced to 10 years’ probation for third-degree rape and was identified for removal due to the severity of the crime.
The deportations followed a public announcement by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who initially stated that 10 individuals tied to Tren de Aragua and MS-13 had been deported to El Salvador. The White House later clarified the total number was 11.

“All 11 on the list either hailed from El Salvador or Venezuela,” a senior official confirmed.
“Last night, another 10 criminals from the MS-13 and Tren de Aragua Foreign Terrorist Organizations arrived in El Salvador,” Rubio posted on X Sunday.
“The alliance between @POTUS and President @nayibbukele has become an example for security and prosperity in our hemisphere.”
The Trump administration has deported more than 200 suspected gang members to El Salvador’s mega prison in recent weeks.
The high-security facility has played a key role in El Salvador’s ongoing anti-gang initiative, which has been supported by the U.S. as part of its expanded international cooperation on law enforcement.
Asked by reporters on Sunday whether he had concerns about the prison conditions in El Salvador, President Trump expressed full support for Bukele’s handling of the situation.
“He’s taking care of a lot of problems that we have that we really wouldn’t be able to take care of from a cost standpoint,” Trump said.
“And he’s doing really, he’s been amazing. We have some very bad people in that prison. People that should have never been allowed into our country.”

The meeting between Trump and Bukele is expected to further solidify the growing alliance between the two leaders, particularly on security and immigration enforcement.
