President Donald Trump’s mission to make America “grande” again included previewing plans on having illegal aliens self-deport without disrupting certain economic sectors.

Attacks against conservatives claiming xenophobia over mass deportations routinely omitted the key detail that the aim was to put a stop to illegal entry into the country. During his first sit-down interview with Fox Noticias host Rachel Campos-Duffy, Trump reinforced his support for legal immigration as he announced a plan to fund illegals’ departure before America will “work with them to get them back in as quickly as we can.”
“We’re gonna give them a stipend. We’re gonna give them some money and a plane ticket, and then we’re gonna work with them — if they’re good — if we want them back in, we’re gonna work with them to get them back in as quickly as we can,” the president explained of the plan ahead of the finer points getting worked out.
During the Monday taping, Trump was shown a clip of a Mexican national who made a life for himself and his American-born children after entering the United States illegally over 20 years earlier.
“I look at this man. I say, this is a guy that we want to keep,” Trump told Campos-Duffy. “I’ll probably take heat for saying it.”
The man in question agreed that those who’ve committed crimes should be deported, including himself, and was said to have voiced support for Trump’s re-election, though he could not vote. The president responded to his own question about whether the man was slated for deportation and told Campos-Duffy, “No, he didn’t say that. Good … I don’t think he’s in any danger of it.”
“We’re doing a self-deportation, and we’re going to make it comfortable for people. And we’re going to work with those people to come back into our country legally,” explained the commander-in-chief, who specifically addressed efforts over concerns in agriculture and the hospitality industries.
“If a farmer can give recommendations to people … we’re gonna be very soothing in terms of, perhaps, letting that farmer … take responsibility,” he expressed after also bringing up hotels.
Turning back to the primary focus of the mass deportations, Trump reminded that expelling violent criminals remained the biggest concern and the main objective of operations taking place across the country.
The interview took place the same day that a Maryland jury convicted 24-year-old Salvadoran national Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernadez of the kidnap, rape and murder of Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old mother of five children.
“Moments ago, the Illegal Criminal, who was allowed into our Country by Crooked Joe Biden, was convicted of the heinous murder of Rachel Morin,” the president posted on Truth Social. “Rachel was a beautiful mother of five from Maryland, and her life was taken at the hands of a monster who should have NEVER been here in the first place.”
“The Fake News should be focusing on the beautiful life and tragic death of this Maryland Mother, rather than the so-called ‘Maryland Father,’ who is actually an MS-13 Gang Member and Foreign Terrorist from El Salvador,” added Trump who brought up the alleged affiliation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia who has been deported to his home country and thus treated as a martyr by the left. “We will never forget Rachel Morin, and are committed to protecting women like her across our Country. We will deport Illegal Murderers, Rapists, and Criminals. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
That slogan was the focus of a lighthearted moment during the interview when Campos-Duffy, wife of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, attempted to teach the president how to say, “‘Let’s Make America Great Again’ in Spanish. ‘Vamos a hacer America grande otra vez.’”
When prompted, the president fired back simply, ¡América grande otra vez!
