An advertisement has just gone up for a “Culture and Inclusion Manager” to work within the Ministry of Defence Police, which provides “armed security and counter terrorism services to designated high-risk areas, as well as uniformed policing and limited investigative services to Ministry of Defence property, personnel, and installations.” But can it be done inclusively?

The MoD is looking for someone “passionate about working in the field of equality diversity and inclusion” to provide “comprehensive support to Staff Network committees and EDI meetings undertaking all arrangements, such as writing agendas,” raise “awareness of diversity and inclusion issues,” and build and maintain “links with internal and external diversity groups.” £29,580, flexible working, and £8,569 towards a gold-plated Civil Service pension…
