Whoopi Goldberg has her broken clock moment, says maybe ‘some of what’s happening is a good thing’

Whoopi Goldberg had a shocking moment of common sense on “The View” that may have left the left-leaning audience confused.

In what may have been a sign that hell had, indeed, frozen over, the actress and comedian seemed to agree with President Donald Trump’s plan to dismantle the Department of Education.

ABC’s daytime talk show cut to a commercial break immediately after the actress and comedian made the stunning remark that got the attention of Secretary of Education Linda McMahon.

“Even Whoopi Goldberg knows — it’s time to do the best thing for our children and send education back to the states,” McMahon wrote on X, where she shared a clip of Goldberg from the show. “Welcome to the team!”

“What we have to always do, regardless of who you voted for, you still got to pay your rent, you still got to take care of your kids, you still got to take care of your business,” Goldberg began on Tuesday’s show.

“Maybe some of what’s happening, like, you know, they’re trying to take apart the Department of Education,” Goldberg told her co-hosts. “Maybe that is a good thing.”

“Because maybe it will force us to make sure that our kids actually get what they need. Maybe it’ll force us to go to our state and say, ‘Listen, I want to make sure, since you’re taking all this money from my taxes, I want to make sure that my kids get exactly what they need. I don’t have to wait for the government to do it,’” she said, looking to the audience.

“We can do it. This is now in our hands. This is in our hands, and it’s going to be tough,” Goldberg continued her emotional appeal.

“And nobody wants to do it because it’s a b**ch. But you know what? If it comes down to your survival, this is what you got to do. You got to take care of what you got to take care of,” she said, as she was instructed to go to a break.

Goldberg’s usually animated co-hosts, who regularly interrupt one another, sat in silence during her comments, perhaps shocked by her agreement with one of Trump’s agenda items.

Social media users, however, were glad to chime in, surprised that Goldberg effectively argued in favor of state and local control of education.
