It was recently announced by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) that the entity has slapped the state of Maine with a lawsuit for not complying with President Donald Trump’s executive order banning males from female sports. A transgender athlete, AB Hernandez has been “victorious” in multiple events in female track and field here in 2025. And when it comes to Trump’s EO, it seems California schools haven’t done anything to follow it. In the whole state, Hernandez ranks No. 1 in each the girls’ triple jump and girls’ long jump.

And it’s not just Hernandez. California seemingly allowed another male to take first place Wednesday in a girls’ 300-meter hurdles event.
