Popular podcast host Megyn Kelly was only too happy to call attention to the hypocrisy behind Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s moneyed barnstorming tour, aptly named the Fighting Oligarchy Tour.
Kelly responded to an X post from Tom Bevan, co-founder and president of RealClearPolitics, who wrote, “Fighting Oligarchy one private jet trip at a time.”
“And here we thought AOC’s first class travel was extravagant (for an oligarchy-fighter)…,” Kelly replied to the post exposing just how much Sanders has spent on private jets during the tour.

The self-avowed socialists “chartered a private jet worth up to a staggering $15,000 an hour for several West Coast stops on their ‘Fighting Oligarchy’ tour, Fox News reported.
More from the network:
Sanders boarded the luxury Bombardier Challenger private jet at the Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield, California, on Tuesday afternoon, according to a photo captured by a source on the ground and shared exclusively with Fox News Digital. Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez, whom the source also spotted boarding the private jet, spoke at their “Fighting Oligarchy” event in Bakersfield just hours earlier.
Flight records reveal the jet landed at Sacramento Mather Airport on Tuesday evening, which is about a 20-minute drive to Folsom, California, where the self-identified Democratic socialists hosted their second rally of the day.
The jet Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez were seen boarding made stops in Salt Lake City and Boise prior to landing in Bakersfield, according to flight records. The arrival dates match the duo’s “Fighting Oligarchy” events in Salt Lake City and Nampa, which is about a 25-minute drive from Boise Airport.
Sanders’s main campaign committee, Friends of Bernie Sanders, spent $221,723 chartering private jets during the first quarter of 2025, according to the Washington Free Beacon, which cited campaign expenditures released on Tuesday.
National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) spokesperson Ben Petersen called the duo “champagne socialists” in a statement to Fox News.
“Champagne socialists Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez demand Americans surrender their pick-up trucks, air conditioning and meat from the luxe leather seats of their private jets that cost more per hour than most Americans earn in months. Their hypocrisy is staggering,” Petersen said.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
Private jets for me, not for you.

In order to know the Oligarchy you must live like them. This requires multiple homes and yes, private jets. These self sacrifices are all for the cause in fighting the man.

What you want to bet the taxpayers paid for it? ♂️

He’s a complete joke, this man never held a real job in his LIFE. He has always lived off the backs of taxpayers, why is taking millions from pharmaceutical companies allowed? In both parties?

All the democrats pretend to give a shit about poor people but live like kings on private jets off the tax payer dime and bribes. Every last one of them are a joke! Bernie Sanders is a con man!
