While Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is busy touring the United States with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on the “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, leaders in her own district are in desperate need of help.
The problems in AOC’s Queens district are reaching a boiling point, and now residents are even calling on FBI Director Kash Patel and the Drug Enforcement Agency to step in and help put an end to the illegal sex workers and drug dealers who have a stranglehold on their neighborhood. That’s right, the situation is so dire that her own constituency is crying out for assistance from the very administration AOC is currently out protesting.
A group of local leaders, which includes former Democrat state Senator Hiram Monserrate, wrote a letter to Patel outlining the sheer abundance of nearly-nude women soliciting sex as well as the takeover of the 18th Street Gang and their illegal operation. It is said the gang is filling the void left behind by the likes of Tren de Aragua following a law enforcement operation, dubbed “Operation Restore Roosevelt.”
According to the New York Police Department, which spoke to Fox News Digital, the operation “has resulted in a 37% year-to-date drop in crime in the Roosevelt Avenue zone with more than 1,800 arrests and more than 15,000 summonses. ”
The issues on the 2 miles of Roosevelt Avenue have resulted in the commercial strip being compared to a third world country and a red-light district, but this isn’t enough to bother the jet-setting Ocasio-Cortez.
While locals praised New York City Mayor Eric Adams following the enforcement action, it didn’t take long for the situation on Roosevelt Avenue to devolve back into chaos. Bars have been used as brothels where legal dances can easily be negotiated into something more, with many of the female sex workers being identified as migrants, according to the leaders.
“The NYPD’s Operation Restore Roosevelt did lead to arrests, but our street sources say the gangs replaced their foot soldiers within days,” the letter reads. “The money never stopped moving, the dance floors stayed open, and the prostitutes came back in full force. This isn’t just a Queens problem, it’s a blueprint for how gangs, cartels, and traffickers can take over a community in plain sight.”
“Roosevelt Avenue doesn’t just have a gang problem. It has become gangland.”
Monserrate and the group of advocates are asking Patel to help investigate the “ever-worsening situation” in Queens.
“Monserrate said that the gangs are involved in all sorts of serious crimes, including human and drug trafficking, illegal gun sales, identity theft and distributing fake Green Cards, as well as violent crimes. His sources have identified at least 20 brothels in the area, some of which operate near schools,” the Fox News report explains.
Meanwhile, AOC is flying first-class on her way around the United States and catching heat for it. As BizPac Review previously reported, the progressive lawmaker was photographed getting cozy in the luxury accommodations.
“Nothing says, ‘Power to the people’ like ignoring voters looking to say hello and reclining in first class while tweeting about income inequality,” said the woman who posted the photos to social media, adding that the representative was not responsive to friendly remarks after taking her seat.
“AOC is fighting the system one first-class mimosa at a time,” she snarked.
