Van Hollen reveals Abrego Garcia in good health, was moved out of CECOT to ‘better’ facility

The Democrat senator who flew to El Salvador on a mission to free alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia from the country’s notorious prison for terrorists says that he had already been moved to another facility.

Following his return to the U.S, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) basked in the afterglow of his semi-successful visit during which he failed to spring Garcia, but was allowed to meet with him, sharing “margaritas” in images that went viral on social media.

On Friday, the senator told reporters that his “constituent” is no longer being held at the Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo (CECOT) megaprison and is now detained at a “better” facility, contradicting the propaganda from Democrats and the media that he was in dire condition inside a torture gulag.

“He told me, and this was yesterday, that eight days ago — so I guess nine days ago from today — he was moved to another detention center in Santa Ana, where the conditions are better,” the showboating senator told media at Dulles International Airport in northern Virginia during his triumphant presser.

Van Hollen said that the so-called “Maryland man” told him that “despite the better conditions, he still has no access to any news from the outside world and no ability to communicate with anybody in the outside world.”

“He said he was not afraid of the other prisoners in his immediate cell but that he was traumatized by being at CECOT and fearful of many of the prisoners in other cell blocks who called out to him and taunted him in various ways,” he said of Garcia’s experience at the tougher prison.

“He said he felt very sad about being in a prison because he had not committed any crimes,” Van Hollen told he press. “When I asked him what was the one thing he would ask for in addition to his freedom, he said he wanted to talk to his wife, Jennifer.”

The senator was accompanied by the prisoner’s wife, Jennifer Vasquez Sura, who, in recently released court documents, alleged that she was beaten by her husband.

Van Hollen insisted that his crusade wasn’t just about the alleged MS-13 gangsta.

“This case is not just about one man, it’s about protecting the constitutional rights of everybody who resides in the United States of America,” he sanctimoniously proclaimed. “If you deny the constitutional rights of one man, you threaten the constitutional rights and due process for everyone else in America.”

The Santa Ana facility is about 85 miles northwest of CECOT, where the Democrats’ new hero was initially taken along with 260 other illegal alien gang members from MS-13 and Tren de Aragua who were deported by the Trump administration last month, igniting a firestorm as Democrats demanded to “bring them back,” showing all of America that they’re willing to side with violent foreign criminal thugs against Trump.
