ICE Nabs Terror-Linked Illegal Alien Wanted for Grenade Attacks in California [WATCH]

A foreign national wanted by Indian authorities for alleged ties to terrorism has been arrested in California by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), after previously entering the country illegally and being released by Border Patrol under the Biden administration.

Harpreet Singh, an Indian citizen, was taken into custody by ICE agents on April 16 in Sacramento, California.

According to Fox News, Singh is one of India’s most wanted fugitives, accused of supporting and planning terrorist acts in connection with the U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

Singh initially entered the United States illegally near the Arizona border on January 27, 2022. He was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol in the Tucson Sector and placed into removal proceedings.

However, he was later released into the interior of the U.S. while his immigration case was pending.

ICE confirmed that Singh will remain in agency custody while his immigration proceedings continue.

Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin responded to the arrest, stating:

“The Biden Administration not only let a wanted terrorist into our country, but after he was arrested by Border Patrol agents, they released him into the interior of our country. While shocking, it’s not surprising given the Biden administration routinely released unvetted terrorists and criminals into American communities. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, ICE is unleashed to remove these violent criminals from America’s streets and put an end to catch and release. We will hunt down, arrest, and lock up foreign terrorists and criminals who have operated with impunity on American soil.”

Singh is wanted in India for his alleged involvement with Babbar Khalsa International, a Khalistani separatist group founded in the 1970s.

Authorities in India accuse Singh of recruiting operatives, financing terror activities, and participating in the planning of at least one grenade attack on an Indian police station.

He is also suspected of being involved in a similar attack on the home of a retired Punjab police officer.

The Indian Intelligence Bureau has identified Singh as a senior operative connected to Harwinder Singh Rinda, a high-profile member of BKI based in Pakistan.

The group has been involved in political assassinations, armed attacks, and bombings to further its separatist goals.

In addition to his terror-related charges, Singh is reportedly wanted for violent extortion and threats in India.

ICE’s recent action comes amid growing scrutiny over the handling of illegal border crossings, especially involving individuals with known or suspected links to international terrorism.
