President Donald Trump told Daily Caller White House Correspondent Reagan Reese on Tuesday that he was pleased with the situation at the border but expressed concerns about the courts.
Trump emphasized the effectiveness of his administration’s border strategy. Trump officials have presided over “north of” 100,000 deportations from late January to the end of March, a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official previously told the New York Post.
“It’s amazing what they’ve done on the borders,” Trump told Reese, highlighting the administration’s success in curbing illegal entries. “It’s one of the great successes. We have virtually nobody coming in illegally.”

The administration’s efforts have focused on deporting those deemed threats to national security, including alleged gang members and those with criminal records. (RELATED: Trump Gives Update On Epstein File Release)
The administration has also implemented strategies to encourage self-deportation, including a multimillion-dollar ad campaign featuring DHS Kristi Noem warning of consequences for those who overstay deportation orders. The CBP One App has been replaced by CBP Home, allowing immigrants to inform authorities of their plans to self-deport, according to the DCNF.
“We’re getting them out,” Trump told Reese.
However, the administration faces ongoing legal hurdles. A recent U.S. Supreme Court order temporarily paused the deportation of alleged Tren de Aragua members under the rarely invoked Alien Enemies Act. Trump addressed the federal judiciary directly Tuesday.
“And I hope we get cooperation from the courts, because we have thousands of people that are ready to go out, and you can’t have a trial for all of these people,” he said. (RELATED: Karoline Leavitt Pressed On What Trump Admin Will Do To Increase Mass Deportations)
Earlier Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt expressed confidence that the Supreme Court will ultimately support the president’s executive authority on immigration.
“We’re confident that the Supreme Court will rule on the side of law and recognize the president absolutely has the executive authority to deport foreign terrorists from our nation’s interior under the Alien Enemies Act,” she said.

The Trump administration’s policies have seemingly had an effect. In March, border agents encountered approximately 7,000 migrants entering illegally, a striking 94% decrease from the 137,000 people who crossed the border in March of the previous year under former President Joe Biden, according to the Post.
“We have got the strongest border we’ve ever had,” Trump claimed, attributing the decline in crossings to his administration’s stricter policies. “Even stronger than what I had for four years.”
However, the administration continues to face challenges to expediting the deportation process. Trump expressed frustration with the legal system’s constraints, saying, “We have thousands of people that are ready to go out, and you can’t have a trial for all of these people.”
