A new More in Common poll for Channel 4 News paints a grim picture for Britain’s political class ahead of the local elections. Of the 1,780 voters surveyed in areas where local elections are being held, a whopping 41% said “none of the above” when asked who would be most effective in governing the country. Nigel Farage came second with 23%, trouncing Labour’s Keir Starmer on 19%, while LOTO Kemi Badenoch trails at a miserable 8%. On local election voting intention, Reform pulls ahead on 26%, the Tories come second on 25%, and Labour limps in at 18%. Potholes and road quality were the top concern for 50% of those surveyed, followed by council tax at 29%. Uninspiring stuff ahead of Channel 4’s local election debate tonight…
