Stephen Miller, Karoline Leavitt respond to Kamala Harris’ first public speech since losing to Trump

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt blasted former Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday after she gave her first public speech since losing the 2024 election.

Harris had emerged from the shadows Wednesday night to give a 16-minute word salad about the alleged constitutional crisis facing the United States. Miller told reporters at Thursday’s briefing that the failed 2024 Democratic nominee’s public appearance is further proof that America is “blessed” that President Donald Trump defeated her in November.

“I think it was a great reminder to the American people of just how blessed we all are that the leader sitting in the Oval Office today is President Donald Trump and not President Kamala Harris,” Miller said. “It was a helpful reminder of just what a travesty and a tragedy that would’ve been. It would’ve been the end of America. And it just gives me a chance to bring the whole thing home. If we continued on this road of radical regulation, choking off American energy, sending our supply chain to foreign countries, taxing our economy to death, pushing this cancerous, woke ideology on our children, ending merit, ending scientific innovation, ending public safety, allowing, you know, everyone goes to the store these days, everything’s locked up.”

“Criminals roam free, law-abiding citizens under the previous administration were punished while gangbangers were given red carpet treatment,” Miller continued. “Democrats, of course, are still gangbangers red carpet treatment. And then the border invasion. Miller further said that Americans only want to hear Harris apologize to them for allowing a record high number of illegal immigrants to flood into the U.S.

“We are never going to stop talking about this because what they did to this country is unforgivable and it is an eternal stain on the Democrat Party,” Miller continued.

During the Biden era, the average number of monthly border encounters reached about 160,000 per day, while the daily average peaked at 15,000 encounters, according to a Trump White House fact sheet. The total number of border encounters added up to about 11 million throughout Biden’s four years in office.

Since Trump entered office, daily border encounters have fallen 93%, migrant crossings are down by 99.99% and “gotaways” have dropped by 95%, according to the fact sheet. Border officials encountered less than 7,200 illegal immigrants, the lowest number of encounters ever recorded in a single month, while the lowest daily number of encounters occurred in February, which added up to 220 per day.

When Miller finished his statement, Leavitt said that the administration encouraged Harris to continue making more public speeches.

“Just to add on the Kamala Harris point, I think I speak for everyone at the White House, we encourage Kamala Harris to continue going out and do speaking engagements,” Leavitt said.

During her speech, Harris referenced a viral video of elephants at the San Diego Zoo huddling together during an earthquake to encourage her fellow Democrats to “find and connect with each other.” She further made the point that in a time of crisis, Democrats should not “scatter.”
