The U.S. Army is preparing for a large-scale military parade in June as part of its 250th anniversary celebration, according to internal planning documents reviewed by the Associated Press.
The documents outline a potential event featuring more than 6,600 soldiers, 150 military vehicles, and 50 helicopters, in what would be one of the largest Army-led parades in recent history.

Army spokesman Col. Dave Butler confirmed to the Associated Press that a parade is being considered as a new addition to the already-planned celebration.
The Army’s anniversary falls on June 14, which also marks Flag Day and President Donald Trump’s birthday.

“We want to make it into an event that the entire nation can celebrate with us,” Butler said.
“We want Americans to know their Army and their soldiers. A parade might become part of that, and we think that will be an excellent addition to what we already have planned.”
While the Army has long planned to host a 250th anniversary festival on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., the inclusion of a military parade had not previously been disclosed to the public.
Planning documents dated Tuesday and Wednesday describe the possible scope of the event, but no final decision has been made, according to another Army spokesman.

If approved, the parade would include participation from soldiers based across the country, representing at least 11 Army corps and divisions.
The proposal details a wide range of military assets, including a tank battalion with two full companies, a Stryker battalion, Paladin self-propelled artillery, an infantry battalion equipped with Bradley fighting vehicles, and multiple Howitzers.
The planning also mentions the involvement of seven Army bands and a possible parachute demonstration by the Golden Knights, the Army’s elite parachute team.

A concert and fireworks display are expected to follow the parade in the evening.
The exact location and final format of the event remain subject to change, and it has not been officially confirmed whether the parade will take place on the National Mall.
The Army’s 250th anniversary comes at a time of renewed emphasis on public awareness and appreciation for the armed forces.
Trump wants 6,600 Troops, 50 helicopters, and millions of your tax dollars for a birthday parade.
Not to honor service, not for national defense—just to feed the ego of a wannabe dictator.
Pure authoritarian cosplay.

Organizers have stated their intent to create a celebration that invites Americans to engage directly with their military and its legacy.
Should the parade move forward, it would stand as a rare large-scale military procession through the capital, reminiscent of past military showcases.
Cutting cancer research while wasting money on this? Shameful.
