A recent spread in The New Yorker is raising eyebrows, with a photo of soon-to-be-married Alex Soros and Huma Abedin at the center of much speculation.
X users have a lot to say about the photograph featuring Soros lounging on a chair, barely holding onto the fingers of Huma Abedin, with both staring deadpan into the camera. The photo was part of a larger “Power Houses” series featuring the homes of other leftist icons like Reverand Al Sharpton and Ella Emhoff.

It’s from The New Yorker’s “Power Houses” series, which also has photo spreads of the homes of Al Sharpton (who of course has a painting of himself), the con artist Ana Sorokin and Doug Emhoff’s daughter pic.twitter.com/V9861hbjjZ

The two lovebirds are giving off edge-of-divorce vibes, and X users were quick to point out everything wrong with the photo:

Huma turns 50 in July. Young Alex is 39.
If Alex were a gentleman, he would stand & give his elder the chair.— Marla Hohner (@marlahohner) May 5, 2025
This is the most unnatural couple I’ve ever come across, dethroning Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Jackson.
