Auburn’s Bruce Pearl Reacts To Israeli-American Hostage Edan Alexander Being Released By Hamas

You gotta love Bruce Pearl.

Multiple reports Sunday started circulating that Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander was freed by Hamas and on the way back to the United States. Later, President Donald Trump would confirm the news on social media.

During the NCAA March Madness Tournament, the sports realm became more aware of the Alexander situation following Auburn basketball head coach Bruce Pearl calling for the hostage’s release. (RELATED: Charles Barkley Keeps It Real About Stephen A. Smith’s Chances Of Becoming Next President)

A U.S. special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff spoke to the media and stated that an agreement had gotten done, and that he would be making a trip Monday to Israel with the plan of retrieving Alexander. The pickup is a part of “the steps being taken to achieve a ceasefire, open the crossings, and allow aid,” per Khalil al-Hayya, the leader of Hamas’ negotiating squad.

While the news of Alexander’s release was circulating Sunday, OutKick contacted Pearl regarding the reports, to which Pearl responded by expressing gratitude to both President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. And that he was “praying” that everything becomes a reality.

“I’m just praying right now that this actually happens,” said Pearl. “Praying for Edan’s health and his entire family’s welfare. I thank President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu for their commitment to win this war and bring hostages home.”

What a great way to start the work week! Fantastic news!
