An attempt to equate President Donald Trump with the “Biden crime family” found one Fox News commentator facing flak from Greg Gutfeld.

After years in the public spotlight and roughly four months back in the White House, leftists have yet to run out of wall space or things to hurl at it in the hope of making something stick to Trump. Tuesday on “The Five,” commentator Marie Harf found herself on the wrong end of Gutfeld’s scrutiny as she likened the president’s deal-making to former President Joe Biden’s alleged influence-peddling.
Adding to the ruckus over Trump accepting a plane from Qatar to temporarily serve as Air Force One amid a years-long delay from Boeing, Harf also spoke to the investment promises from foreign nations as though the president’s friendly relationships with business leaders were enough to warrant the label of “corruption.”
“We cannot forget that these countries have invested millions and millions of dollars in Trump family businesses, and if this were the Biden family, the ‘Biden crime family’ you all talked about for four years, going to countries and getting millions and millions of dollars from the same people who are investing those millions to personally enrich Donald Trump, you would be furious,” she argued.
In response, co-host Jesse Watters reminded, “That’s because the Trump family has a business. The Biden family didn’t have a business,” before Gutfeld spoke up, “Yeah, you can’t compare the two.”
“You’re right, Trump is worse,” Harf doubled down in her assertion to ignored the reality that Trump had foregone receiving a salary during both his first and current administration whereas Biden had issued blanket pardons to his son, Hunter Biden, as well as last minute pardons to his brothers Frank and James, James’ wife Sara, as well as his sister Valeria Owens and her husband John.
“The issuance of these pardons should not be mistaken as an acknowledgement that they engaged in any wrongdoing, nor should acceptance be misconstrued as an admission of guilt for any offense,” Biden stated of the pardons.
“The Bidens exploited public service for personal wealth,” argued Gutfeld as Harf tried, “That’s what Donald Trump is doing today!”
Furthering his case, the comedic host of “Gutfeld!” went on, “He’s already a billionaire. None of these licensing deals have any bearing on him. You wanna talk about Trump business deals and Biden business deals? One is transparent and one isn’t. We know about the jet because he’s not hiding it. We didn’t know about the Burisma deal. We didn’t know about the money coming from China. That was all secret.”
To that point, Trump himself came out in defense of the plane, valued at $400 million, and told Fox News host Sean Hannity, “Now, some people say, ‘Oh, you shouldn’t accept gifts for the country.’ My attitude is, why wouldn’t I accept the gift? We’re giving to everybody else? Why wouldn’t I accept the gift?”
He also pointed out that the plane is not being given to him, but to the Department of Defense and the United States Air Force for temporary use.

Still, Harf attempted, “Just because you see the corruption doesn’t mean it’s not corruption, Greg.”
To that, Watters sought clarity and asked, “What was the Biden family business?” before a long pause found Harf trying, “I know what the Trump family business is, and it’s corruption.
