Teamsters Boss Tells Megyn Kelly How Members Saw Through Kamala And Her ‘Creepy’ Running Mate

Teamsters President Sean O’Brien told SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly that his union members saw through former Vice President Kamala Harris’ “arrogance” as well as her “creepy” running mate Tim Walz after the duo failed to secure the union’s endorsement for president in 2024.

The Teamsters announced last September that they would not endorse any presidential candidate, with O’Brien later saying in interviews that Harris and her team had been difficult to work with during policy discussions. When asked on “The Megyn Kelly Show” why he believed Harris had been “so arrogant,” O’Brien said it’s the “attitude” of the Democrat Party today.

“For so long, the party has, and I can speak for the Teamsters union, in my own opinion, we’ve given the Democratic Party millions upon millions of dollars. I think they just thought it was like 10th grade geometry. It was a given,” O’Brien said.

“They were just going to get it, tell us what we wanted to hear and that they were going to win. Look, our members are sophisticated,” O’Brien added. “I think the American people are a lot more sophisticated, and they pay attention. The arrogance, I think, was a downfall. They talk to people like we were schoolchildren, you know, telling us what we should do, what we shouldn’t do. She’s just not a good candidate.”

The Teamsters Union interviewed each presidential contender, asking a set of questions addressing members’ concerns. During a December 2024 interview with Daily Caller News Foundation co-founder Tucker Carlson, O’Brien said Harris refused to answer all 16 questions, only responding to four, and left the meeting 20 minutes before it was scheduled to end. “The funny thing is when she talked about her intention, she embraced technology. She embraced a lot of things that will destroy American jobs. She was actually reflecting upon what the Republicans used to say 20 years ago,” O’Brien said. “So it was like a script was flipped, and she just wasn’t resonating with us.”

At the start of her campaign, Harris avoided in-depth interviews and failed to answer questions about flip-flopping on policies she once supported before 2020. As Democrats began losing key voting blocs like Hispanic and black men, Harris attempted to win them back through policy pledges and appearances with fellow Democrats, including former President Barack Obama.

O’Brien also called out Walz.

“Her running mate, I mean, really … this was hilarious. [He] calls me out saying all the courageous union leaders that endorsed our ticket, they should be applauded. And the ones that didn’t have the courage, basically, you know, screw [them],” O’Brien said.

“I’m laughing at him. Here’s a guy that has a false narrative of his service for this country. He looks like a creepy wrestling coach in high school that you wouldn’t want your kids rolling around the ground with,” O’Brien added. “So I just thought that was funny coming from him.”

In addition to Harris’ struggles, reports accusing Walz of “stolen valor” surfaced after he was announced as her running mate. In 2005, Walz allegedly left his battalion after learning it was being deployed to Iraq, with two veterans who reportedly served alongside him saying he had betrayed “his country.”
